The facade of the Bastille Opera is currently under renovation. Since 1996, the facades of the Opera were secured by safety nets, following the fall of a stone plaque that the school had been deplorable in 1990.
The long and complex procedure that followed the incident after having found a technical and legal help the rehabilitation of facades has been implemented. This work, which began in summer 2007, will extend over a period of 2 years. A platform site has been rising before the 120 rue de Lyon, in order to facilitate the delivery and unloading of materials without disrupting the movement of pedestrians and the entry of artists.
